Chocolate Peanut Butter Dates

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER DATES

INGREDIENTS

5-6 Pitted Dates

Smooth Peanut Butter

1 Handful of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Maldon

EQUIPMENT

Saucepan (affordable), Saucepan (splurge)

Bowl

Kitchen Towel

Spatula

Spoon

Parchment Paper

Piping Bags or Ziplock Bags

Fork or Kitchen Tweezers

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Setting up your double broiler:

    Fill the saucepan with 2-3 inches of water. Place a larger bowl over the saucepan and pour in chocolate chips. Turn on the stove on medium heat and allow chocolate chips to melt slowly. Be careful once the chocolate has melted - the bowl be scalding!

  2. Meanwhile, split pitted dates down the middle with a pairing knife.

  3. Spoon peanut butter into dates.

  4. Using a fork or kitchen tweezers, dip dates into melted chocolate. Once thoroughly coated, place them on a parchment-lined plate.

  5. Place chocolate-covered dates in the refrigerator for 10 minutes or until set.

  6. Add remaining chocolate to a ziplock or piping bag. Once the dates have set, pipe chocolate over them. This is entirely optional but a nice touch!

  7. GRUB.
