Meet The Founder

Hello & welcome! I am Summer, the face and hands behind all of the magic happening at Grublisher. I am a classically trained chef from Johnson & Wales University and mother based out of Austin, TX. Culinary school was an excellent way to build a foundation, but I’ve acquired most of my knowledge through my 6+ years of experience in the restaurant industry. My first three years I was a lead cook in banquet catering for the Carolina Panthers. Then I moved on to work as a line cook for Futo Buta in Charlotte, NC, Kindred in Davidson, NC and Odd Duck in Austin, TX. The restaurants I have worked for have a few things in common - customer service and high quality food is key! Learning from James Beard's nominated chefs has influenced the cook I am today.

Fast forward to June 2020 and a global pandemic later… I was a furloughed line cook and in desperate need of a creative outlet. In a short amount of time it became obvious that the restaurant industry was taking a huge pause until the pandemic was under control. With so much uncertainty in the air, I decided to begin teaching virtual cooking classes! Not only am I able to continue experimenting with new recipes and ingredients, I get to fuel my passion of serving and feeding others.

A few cooking classes a month slowly turned into fully booked months of teaching, learning, growing, and cooking with so many people. These events have ranged from date nights, to family gatherings, corporate events, or “just because”.

In addition to Grublisher, I started working for Assembly in May 2021 leading virtual cooking events for large corporations such as LinkedIn, Spotify, GlassDoor and more. Most recently, I led Assembly's first Curated Cookalong, a virtual cooking event with recipes and ingredients I put together, shipped right to your door.

Grublisher has become a trusted resource hub for all things cooking. I aim to serve all skill levels and create user friendly resources to enhance your techniques, kitchen short cuts, cookware reviews, and more!

Even when life gets busy, “breaking bread” offers a moment of connection. A moment to pause. No matter where you are from or where you go, having a meal with another person is often the starting point for connection and community. My dream is to create these special moments with you through my cooking classes, meal prep services, catered events and more, to give you that escape a good meal often provides.
